Malacca Trip

Here is a brief explaination about Malacca. Malacca (Malay: Melaka, dubbed as The Historical State or Negeri Bersejarah amongst locals) is the third smallest Malaysian state, after Perlis and Penang. It is located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula, on the Straits of Malacca. It borders Negeri Sembilan to the north and the state of Johor to the south. The state's capital is Malacca Town. This historical city centre has been listed as a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 7th July 2008.
Although Malacca was once one of the oldest Malay sultanates, the state has no Sultan today. Instead, the head of state is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri or Governor.

I woke up at 5 AM yesterday, started our journey to Malacca at 6.15 AM.
We stopped by Seremban to have our breakfast in some of the hawker stalls but I don't know the name of the restaurant. After our breakfast, we headed straight to Malacca. It was a 2 hour plus journey from my hometown. We spent the whole afternoon around Malacca town, we also tried the 'Nyonya kuih lapis', and the Nyonya food! It was my very first time to try out Nyonya food. And all I can describe is; every dishes was so tasty and delicious, spicy and hot! If you had the chance to drop by Malacca, you may want to try out the nyonya food in 'Oleh Sayang Restaurant'. =)

This is the bus that we boarded to Malacca.

Our first stop was to the Bee Museum

We visited a chinese temple

This is my God grandma.

Look at the trishaws. They are decorated nicely with colorful flowers, queueing up, waiting for their customers.

From the jonker walk, we walked all the way to the A Famosa and Dataran Pahlawan. It took us about 10 minutes.
Dataran Pahlawan is a newly opened shopping mall and it is just right opposite to the A Famosa. It's quite a big mall. It was my fourth time visiting Melacca. Things that are selling in that mall is kinda expensive as compared to in KL.

While walking from the red houses to the A Famosa, I saw this.
It's called the Menara Taming Sari or Taming Sari Tower. I did not check out the entry fare for this Menara Taming Sari. We did not have enough time to take a ride on this tower. It must be fun I guess, as you could see the whole of Melacca town.

This is the Nyonya dishes in Oleh Sayang Restaurant.
I love the spicy sotong! It's the best so far.
